Strength is the longevity organ
Muscle is not cosmetic. It is a metabolic sink, an endocrine organ, and the clearest functional predictor of how the last decades of life will feel.

From the fourth decade onward, untrained adults lose muscle mass and — faster still — power. Power loss, not mass loss, is what turns into a fall, a fracture, and a step-change in independence.
The prescription
- Two to three resistance sessions per week, progressively loaded
- Protein distributed across the day rather than stacked at dinner
- Explicit power work — the ability to move load quickly, not just move it
- Zone 2 cardio to protect mitochondrial function alongside strength
We baseline with body composition, grip strength and VO₂ max, then re-test at 12 weeks. Patients who can see the curve bend rarely need convincing to continue.
